DETAILS

Women's Equality Day is never a passive celebration, it is a call to action! Take action this year and relive the extraordinary effort by everyday citizens and equality legislators to ensure Virginia was (finally) on the right side of history with its 2020 ratification of the Equal Rights Amendment. RATIFIED follows a multi-racial, multi-generational, nonpartisan coalition of advocates and politicians taking up the mantle of the 100 year struggle to enshrine the Equal Rights Amendment in the US Constitution by pushing Virginia to become the 38th and final state needed to ratify the ERA. Virginia's ratification was the last step required to satisfy every condition in Article V of the Constitution FOUR YEARS AGO, but publication of our 28th Amendment (Equal Rights) has still not occurred. Come laugh, cry, and get inspired all over again. Then decide what part of the Joyful Ruckus you want to make in 2024! This screening is brought to you by VoteEquality (https://VoteEquality.US), the national campaign to publish our 28th Amendment (Equal Rights) that evolved from VAratifyERA. The VoteEquality team would like to say a very special THANK YOU for the boots on the ground from these groups, who worked together on the VAratifyERA campaign: ACLU of Virginia AAUW of Virginia American Bar Association Arlington Civic Federation Center For Common Ground Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.
